Local OCR
Section titled “Local OCR”- Shortcut default ⇧⌘2, or OCR from pause menu / annotate recognize text.
- On-device recognition for code in images, dialogs, non-selectable text.
- Free: about 20 runs / month; Plus / Pro: unlimited.
Results go to the clipboard; optimized for getting text, not heavy proofreading UI.
OCR menu
Section titled “OCR menu”Pause menu and top bar expand to:
- Text (local)
- Table, formula, chemistry (cloud rolling out; Pro placeholders)
Translate
Section titled “Translate”- Translate selection or recognized text (Pro, cloud).
- Target language in settings; UI languages include EN, 简体/繁体中文, 日本語, 한국어, or follow system.
QR codes
Section titled “QR codes”- Detect QR content in captures (Plus / Pro).
Capture FoxSnip
Section titled “Capture FoxSnip”With Capture FoxSnip enabled, a new screenshot includes OCR result windows in the image; selection chrome stays out.
vs FoxClip
Section titled “vs FoxClip”OCR, translate, license, and update channels are separate from FoxClip — no shared quota or activation state.
